Pro-regime demonstrators gather Monday in Damascus, Syria. The minister of the economy called newly approved Arab League sanctions “a dangerous precedent” that will harm ordinary people more than the regime.

Michael Darius Moore, 25, of Texarkana, Texas, was arrested at Texarkana, Texas, Police Department when he arrived to talk to detectives, said Shawn Vaughn, TTPD spokesman.

Officers were dispatched about 8:45 p.m. Nov. 21, 2015, to a report of an unresponsive child at a residence in the 1000 block of Waterall Street. Officers found Moore attempting to perform CPR on 2-year-old Kadarius King in the living room of the house, Vaughn said.

Moore told officers the child started vomiting while eating and lost consciousness. Kadarius was taken by ambulance to Wadley Regional Medical Center, where he later died, according to Vaughn.

The child's body was sent to Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas for an autopsy, and the cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma, police said.

Vaughn said Moore, the boyfriend of the child's mother at the time, was babysitting King and two other children alone that evening while the mother was at work.

Moore is being held in the Bi-State Justice Building jail, and his bond is expected to be set Friday.
