The TexAmericas Center Board of Directors will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Nash, to consider hiring an environmental design company to conduct some digital mapping for a future natural gas pipeline installation.

Board members, who will meet inside Nash's Municipal Training Center behind Nash City Hall, will discuss hiring Matrix Environmental to conduct a digital geophysical mapping survey which will allow CenterPoint Energy to eventually install a 14,400-foot linear natural gas pipeline on the center's property.

CenterPoint is requesting TexAmericas to take the proper precautionary measures which will allow the pipeline's route to run four feet underground and avoid any unexploded ordnance that may still be on the property.

TexAmericas is considering paying Matrix Environmental $22,500 to conduct the digital geophysical mapping and survey project. The pipeline will be needed by the Expal USA company to conduct contract work for the U.S. Department of Defense.
