Amy Radney, with Sherwin-Williams Paint, picks up large slabs of paint in one of the kennels Tuesday at the Texarkana Animal Shelter. She and others with Lowe's Texarkana store are volunteering their time. The local Lowe's store picked the animal shelter as this year's main project after learning about the structural issues the shelter was facing. The group of 50 volunteers will work this week and next replacing some of the cinder blocks, redoing two roofs and painting the kennels in the lower level of the shelter.
