Project design, construction and repair updates, along with an annual financial audit report, will be the subjects discussed at a Texarkana Regional Airport Authority Board meeting at 8 a.m. today.

Board members, who will meet inside the Airport Administration Conference Room, will listen to an update on recent rehabilitation work conducted and finished on the airport's primary runway from Airport Director Mark Mellinger.

Mellinger will also deliver a report on recent completed repairs to the Airframe and Power Plant School-an effort that cost slightly more then $70,000. However, at least 90 percent of that bill will be reimbursed by the Arkansas Departments of Aeronautics.

In other business, Mellinger will report on ongoing efforts to build a new and larger passenger terminal, with engineering and architectural design work forecast to start in October. Mellinger said the airport will have to submit a federal grant application as soon as possible in order to get the overall project launched.

Mellinger said he also plans to take a trip to the Federal Aviation Administration's Regional Headquarters in Fort Worth next month to discuss the project.

Board members will also listen to an annual audit report delivered by representatives from the local Wilf and Henderson accounting firm.
