An Avinger Independent School District coach, his teacher wife and their daughter were arrested this week after police said the trio broke into a home in Marion County and stole several items.

Coach Tim K. Davis, 42, and teacher Amber E. Davis, 37, were arrested Monday at the Avinger school building in southern Cass County. Their daughter, Drew A. Davis, was arrested Tuesday at the Marion County Sheriff's Office. They are each being held on a charge of burglary of a habitation.

Marion County Sheriff David McKnight said the family broke into a home owned by the widow of successful musician Bugs Henderson on Reeves Lane north of Jefferson and took personal and household items, including musical instruments, photographs and personal documents.

Police searched the Davis home and found many of the stolen items, McKnight said. Police are still searching for the rest of the stolen property.

"This investigation is
ongoing and more arrests are probable," he said.

McKnight said Tim and Amber Davis were arrested out of sight of any students and that the school district was cooperative with deputies.

Avinger ISD officials were not immediately available to comment.
