One of Texas' most wanted sex offenders nabbed in city

A Bowie County sex offender on Texas' top 10 list was captured Friday in Wake Village, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Robert Charles Willis, 39, was recently added to the DPS 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list.

On Friday, he was found in Wake Village, Texas. He was apprehended without incident, according to a DPS report on its website.

Further details were not immediately available.

Willis was wanted in Texas for failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements. He is also wanted in Arkansas for parole violation.

Before his capture, Willis' last known address was in DeKalb, Texas. He also has ties to Texarkana, in both Texas and Arkansas. His criminal history includes sexual abuse, battery, escape and failing to register as a sex offender. In February 2000, Willis was convicted in Miller County of three counts of sexual abuse for incidents involving three children, ages 4 and younger.

Tip information for Willis' capture is being reviewed, according to the website. DPS was willing to offer up to $5,000 for information leading to Willis' arrest.
