Texarkana Regional Airport Authority Board members will discuss a new passenger terminal project design, construction and repair updates and an annual financial audit report at 8 a.m. today.

The board meeting, initially set for Aug. 25, was rescheduled because a quorum of board members weren't able to meet last week.

Board members, who will meet inside the Airport Administration Conference Room, will listen to an update from airport director Mark Mellinger on recent rehabilitation work on the airport's primary runway.

Mellinger will also deliver a report on recently completed repairs to the Airframe and Power Plant School-an effort that cost slightly more then $70,000. However, at least 90 percent of that bill will be reimbursed by the Arkansas Department of Aeronautics.

In other business, Mellinger will report on ongoing efforts to build a new and larger passenger terminal, with engineering and architectural design work to start in October. Mellinger said the airport will have to submit a federal grant application as soon as possible in order to get the overall project launched.

Mellinger said he plans to take a trip to the Federal Aviation Administration's Regional Headquarters in Fort Worth next month to discuss the project.

Board members will also listen to an annual audit report delivered by representatives from the local Wilf and Henderson accounting firm.
