Man in custody after high-speed police chase

A man is in custody after leading law enforcement on a chase across the state line Tuesday morning.

The chase started around 9 a.m. in Hooks, Texas, when police tried to pull the suspect over for a felony warrant. The suspect refused to stop and Bowie County sheriff's deputies got involved in the pursuit.

Officers then had the driver out of the van and cornered. But when they were getting ready to arrest him, he allegedly jumped back in the van and took off again.

Bowie County deputies say the man got on Interstate 30 and reached speeds of about 100 mph.

He drove through New Boston and Texarkana, Texas, before crossing the state line and finally stopping at a Comfort Inn in Texarkana, Ark., where he was taken into custody without incident.

The suspect's name and charges against him were not immediately available.
