Texas A&M University-Texarkana is coordinating with The Center For Legal Studies to offer two online courses—one for ACT/SAT preparation, and another covering employment Law. Both courses will begin Jan. 9.
The ACT/SAT course is seven weeks and will give test-taking techniques to prepare students to take the exams. Requirements include internet access, email and a Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome browser. Tuition is $250 plus required textbooks. The noncredit Employment Law course will cover statues including the National Labor Relations Act, the Railway Labor Act and other laws concerning public employees. Attendees will learn the history of employment law and how to distinguish employment from independent contracting. They will also learn the difference between at-will employment and wrongful discharge. Graduates will receive a certificate of completion from A&M-Texarkana.
