Master Gardeners seek applicants for training

NEW BOSTON, Texas-The Bowie County Master Gardeners, a volunteer organization of horticulture enthusiasts, is currently seeking applicants for its 2017 Training Class.

Training classes will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., twice weekly on Monday and Thursday afternoons, from Jan. 9 to Feb. 23, at the Texarkana College building inside the TexAmericas Center in Hooks, Texas.

The classes will focus on giving master gardener applicants extensive training in horticulture as well as volunteer service for the applicants with approved projects back in their communities.

The class enrollment fee will be $125 per person, which will pay for a training manual, name tag and a required criminal background check.
