A Texas-side couple was taken to the hospital Friday evening for treatment of minor injuries
after a two-car, T-bone collision on Cowhorn Creek Road near
Central Mall, said Officer Jonathan Matlock, with Texarkana, Texas, Police
Department.

Police said the crash occurred at 5:10 p.m. when Adam Sesler, 21, of Texarkana, Ark., attempted to
negotiate a left turn onto Kennedy Lane from the intersection at Cowhorn
Creek Road.

Sesler was eastbound on Cowhorn Creek when he went to make the turn, Matlock said.

A red Ford Focus, headed westbound on Cowhorn Creek Road collided with the rear right panel of Sesler's SUV. The Focus, driven by Raymond Mundinger, 67, of Texarkana, Texas, was damaged at the front, passenger-side
bumper.

"He (Sesler) thought he could make the light," Matlock said. "It turned red before he could make it."

Mundinger and his wife were taken by ambulance to CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System for treatment of nonlife-threatening injuries, Matlock said.

Police said no citations were issued as fire and police officials worked to clear the roadway and direct traffic at the
intersection.
