Early voting begins Tuesday for primaries

Early voting for the March 1 primary elections starts Tuesday for residents of Miller County, Ark., and Bowie County, Texas.

In Miller County, early voting will be available at the courthouse from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, Feb. 16-27; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20; and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 29, according to Janet Satterfield, election deputy clerk for the county. The courthouse is at 400 Laurel St., Texarkana.

If a runoff election is required, it will be held 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. March 22. Early voting for the runoff election will be from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays only, March 15-21.

For Bowie County residents, early voting is open through Feb. 26 at Bi-State Justice Building or Bowie County Courthouse. During that time, voters may cast ballots from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays; 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20; and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21. Voting at Bi-State west entrance, 100 N. State Line Ave., in Texarkana or Bowie County Courthouse, 710 James Bowie Drive, New Boston, Texas.

Any required primary runoff elections will be May 24 in Bowie County, residents may also vote early in those contests from May 16-20 at the same times and places as early primary election voting.

Wake Village will hold a local option municipal election May 7 regarding beer and wine sales. Early voting will be April 25-May 3 at Wake Village City Hall, 624 Burma Road. Call City Hall at 903-838-1515 for early voting hours.
