A Texas-side man was killed Thursday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in Liberty-Eylau, said Trooper Steve Munger with the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The accident occurred just before 2 p.m. on Gun Club Road in Liberty-Eylau, about a half-mile from where the road meets Eylau Loop Road near Kings Highway, police said.
A man driving eastbound on Gun Club Road in a green Dodge Ram 1500 veered into the westbound lane before leaving the road and crashing the truck head-on into a fence post, Munger said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Munger said there was some question as to whether the man died prior to the crash.
The man's name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
