Police continue to investigate the Thursday night shooting death of a Texas-side man at his home, Shawn Vaughn, Texarkana, Texas, police spokesman, said.

Vaughn said at 11:39 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 500 block of Waterman Street after receiving a 911 call about a shooting.

Police found Fredric Griffin, 32, critically injured in his brick home at 517 Waterman St., with at least one gunshot wound to his upper body.

"(Griffin) was transported to CHRISTUS St. Michael (Health Center) where he later died," Vaughn said.

Vaughn said an autopsy should reveal further information about Griffin's wound(s).

Theodore "Tyrone" Robinson, 35, was identified as a person of interest in the case on the Texas-side department's Facebook page early Friday morning. Police also released his photo on the post at facebook.com/texarkanapolice.

About 1 1/2 hours later police said Robinson came willingly to the department to be questioned, just after 8 a.m.

Though no arrest was made, Vaughn said Robinson remains a person of interest in Griffin's death.

"All things considered, (police) are sure it was a homicide," Vaughn said.

Anyone with information on this case is urged to contact TTPD at 903-798-3116 or Texarkana Area Crime Stoppers at 903-793-STOP.
