Energy assistance being offered to Arkansas residents

Southwest Arkansas Development Council will start the 2016 Summer Cooling Home Energy Assistance Program for Arkansas residents from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at the Miller County Senior Center, 1007 Jefferson Ave., Texarkana, Ark.

Identification is needed for the person applying and includes a driver's license, birth certificate, work or school ID or voter registration card. Also required are Social Security numbers for all household members, proof of household income for all members 18 and older for the month before applying and both gas and electric bills.

Regularly scheduled times will resume the following week on July 11 until funds are depleted or the program closes.
