Texarkana Chamber of Commerce will hold a Hail and Farewell for the outgoing and incoming Red River Army Depot commanders Wednesday at Texarkana Country Club.
The event will take place at 6:30 p.m., and attendees are encouraged to thank outgoing commander Col. Brandon L. Grubbs for his two years of service there. The new depot commander, Col. Jason A. Carrico, along with his family, will be on hand.
"The Red River defense complex contributes more than $2 billion annually to the local economy and is responsible for approximately 16,000 direct and indirect jobs. The Hail and Farewell is a great opportunity to thank Col. Grubbs and his family for their service, as well as welcome Col. Carrico and his family to Texarkana. Let's show the Army we are a military-friendly community and are proud they are there," said Dennis Lewis, chamber board member.
