Texarkana, Texas, police search a gambling house Thursday morning, July 14, 2016, in Oaklawn Village Shopping Center. TTPD raided the storefront operation after undercover officers investigated for two weeks.

Two men were arrested this morning after Texas-side police found a hole-and-corner gambling house inside an unmarked storefront on New Boston Road, said Shawn Vaughn, police spokesman.

Vaughn said Lee Dailey, 51, of Palestine, Texas, and James Thompson Jr., 25, of DeKalb, Texas, were arrested this morning after a search warrant was carried out at the store in Oaklawn Village Shopping Center.

The search warrant stemmed from a two-week investigation and undercover operation.

"We received information from citizens about the gambling operation approximately two weeks ago," Vaughn said.

Police said during the investigation, undercover officers entered the clandestine business several times and "paid to play the eight-liner games on computers" that had been set up in the establishment.

"While there, (undercover officers) witnessed winnings being paid out to patrons in cash," Vaughn said. Officers found 30 computers, a video surveillance system, an ATM machine and about $5,000 in cash during the search of the building.

Dailey and Thompson were charged with engaging in organized criminal activity, according to a report.

Thompson was additionally charged with possession of methamphetamine-a controlled substance-and two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Both are being held in the Bi-State Justice Building jail awaiting bond.

"The investigation continues, and additional arrests are expected," Vaughn said.
