Three requests for funding are on the agenda of Thursday's regular meeting of the Arkansas-side Advertising and Promotion Commission.

Urban Renaissance, a nonprofit group devoted to enhancing downtown Texarkana with visual arts projects, is requesting to reallocate $2,000 of its 2016 funding from the commission. The group plans to spend the money on artwork for five Plexiglas window boxes at the Lindsey Railroad Museum building, according to agenda materials.

The city of Texarkana, Ark., Parks and Recreation Department is requesting up to $75,000 to build a new playground at Bobby Ferguson Park. A quote from Cunningham Recreation of Charlotte, N.C., states the proposed new playground equipment and installation will cost $74,364.83.

The commission also will discuss a $28,000 funding request made by Diva Maintenance in May. The group asked for the money to help pay for its downtown Cajun Catfish Festival held July 1 and 2, but because the commission did not meet between the request's submission and the festival, it was unable to consider providing any funds prior to the event.

In addition, commissioners will review expenditures for the second quarter of 2016 and discuss a list of delinquent hotel and restaurant taxes. At its meeting July 7, the commission voted to require delinquent taxpayers to submit payment plans by Aug. 1 and pay all back taxes by the end of the year.

The meeting is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the board room at City Hall, 216 Walnut St.
