Corps of Engineers to close boat ramp at Millwood temporarily

The Army Corps of Engineers, Millwood Tri-Lakes Project Office is temporarily closing the Okay Landing boat ramp because of low lake levels.

The current lake levels are not high enough to safely launch boats and navigate around the Okay Landing ramp and access area, said Laurie Driver, Corps of Engineers spokeswoman.

The corps began drawing down Millwood Lake on July 18 to allow for bank stabilization work at Cottonshed Park. The drawdown is scheduled to continue for the next three weeks.

"Officials at the Army Corps of Engineers Millwood Tri-Lakes Project Office regret any inconveniences this may cause and ask the public to exercise caution while boating," Driver said.

Corps rangers reminds all boaters to wear a life jacket. For more information, call the Millwood Project Office 870-898-3343
