Local Master Gardeners, 4-H to offer programs in August, September

The Red Dirt Master Gardeners and 4-H will offer educational programs for adults and children at the Gateway Farmers Market in August and September.

The hours will be from 7 a.m. to noon.

The Master Gardeners will be taking soil samples each Saturday in August and September for analysis.

"Bring a pint of soil for each sample you would like to have analyzed in a plastic baggie or clean jar to the Master Gardener booth. There will also be educational gardening materials available as well as Master Gardeners to help with any gardening questions you might have," said Samantha Kroll, Miller County extension agent.

"The children's programs are being offered by Miller County 4-H and will help the youth enjoy their time at the market while the adults shop for the freshest local produce, baked goods, herbs, and flowers," Kroll said.
