Yahweh Christian Church and Phillip Parrish host a two-day prayer event, "The Secret Place, Prevailing Prayers," slated for 6 p.m. Aug. 7 and 7 p.m. Aug. 8.
The guest speaker of the event will be New York native Francine Riley of Atlanta, Ga.
Riley serves as pastor and founder of Perpetual Praise Family Worship Center Inc. and chief executive officer of Perpetual Praise Ministries Inc. Her ministry extends beyond the United States to several countries and continents. She is convinced of her call to preach and teach the gospel.
Riley has a Bachelor of Arts degree in religious studies, Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Christian education. She also holds an honorary doctorate of divinity from A Ray of Hope Theological Seminary and Bible College and International School of Divinity.
Participants are encouraged to bring a prayer partner or team.
"Nothing is as dear to my heart as engaging believers in the spiritual discipline of prayer. Not only is it our lifeline, but I believe God does absolutely nothing until He finds a person who will pray," Parrish said. "There must be clarion call that will activate and resurrect the power of prayer in our lives, churches, cities and ultimately our nation."
