Veteran's Entrepreneurship Boot Camp will be held June 23

A free Texarkana Veteran's Entrepreneurship Boot Camp will be held June 23 to provide a boost to veterans interested in "jump starting" their businesses.

The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Texarkana College's TexAmericas Center campus, 15 James Carlow Drive, New Boston, Texas. A complimentary lunch will be provided by Capital One Bank.

The boot camp is sponsored by Dallas-based Momentum Texas Inc., a statewide nonprofit organization, and Northeast Texas Small Business Development Center. The Texarkana team features Don Kennedy, Red River Army Depot director of contracting, and Tim Wilson, Northeast Texas SBDC director. Willie Rodriguez, a Navy veteran and lender specialist of the Dallas Fort Worth Small Business Administration, will speak.

Focus will be on the fundamentals of management, marketing and money for start-ups and established businesses. Presenters include an MTI team working with experts in the Texarkana area who are dedicated to helping veterans start and grow their businesses, Reid said.

Seating is limited, and proof of veteran status and citizenship is required. Register by emailing [email protected]. For more information, call Jim Reid, Momentum Texas president, at 214-773-4663.
