Former 'Voice' contestant and Oklahoma native to perform at Beavers Bend

BROKEN BOW, Okla.-Former "Voice" contestant Corey Kent White will perform at 8:30 p.m. today at the Kiamichi Owa-Chito Festival at Beavers Bend State Park in McCurtain County, Okla.

The winner of the festival's talent show will perform at 6:20 p.m. on the amphitheater stage and the winner of the Battle of the Bands contest will perform at 7 p.m.

People attending the concerts are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

White is an Oklahoma native and has family in the Broken Bow area.

Other activities scheduled for today include a bike show at the nature center, canoe races, stick ball, an archery contest, a horseshoe contest, bingo and a spelling bee.

In 2015, extreme rainfall on Memorial Day weekend resulted in the festival having to be moved to Broken Bow City Park. Attendance was low and festival organizers are hoping this year will be much more successful financially.
