Sex offender added to Texas Most Wanted List

Another high-risk sex offender has been added to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list, and a cash reward of up to $3,000 is being offered for information leading to his capture, according to Texas Department of Public Safety reports.

Roy Lee Bosier, 55, of Houston is categorized as a high-risk sex offender who is wanted for both failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements and a parole violation. Bosier-who sometimes goes by 'Dee Dee'- is 6 feet tall and weighs about 225 pounds with tattoos on both arms and his chest, said Sylvia Jennings, DPS spokeswoman.

Bosier is known to have experience working in both construction and landscaping.

"Bosier's last known address was in Houston and he has ties to the city," Jennings said.

Bosier was first convicted in a 1979 rape case in Robertson County, Texas, after he and two others sexually assaulted a 17-year-old female, according to his online wanted poster at dps.texas.gov/Texas10MostWanted/. He served 10 years in prison for the conviction.

In 1987, Bosier was also convicted of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon in Harris County for striking his victim in the head with a pipe before stealing the victim's personal property. He was sentenced to 99 years in prison but was paroled and housed at Southeast Texas Transitional Center in Houston in December 2012.

The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles issued a warrant for Bosier's arrest for a parole violation in June 2015-2 1/2 years later. Six months ago, the 174 District Court of Harris County issued another arrest warrant for Bosier's failure to comply as a sex offender.

In addition to Dee Dee, Bosier may also go by Joe Bosier, Joseph Earl Bosier, Roy Lee Bossier or Ray Lee Bosier, according to his offender profile.

Jennings said Texas Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards to any person who can provide information that leads to the arrest of Bosier, or any of the Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitives or sex offenders. Texas Crime Stoppers is funded by the Governor's Criminal Justice Division, she said.

To be eligible for a cash reward, a tipster has to provide information to authorities using one of the five following methods:

Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).

Text the letters "DPS"-followed by your tip-to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cellphone.

Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture.

Submit a Facebook tip at facebook.com/texas10mostwanted by clicking the SUBMIT A TIP link (under the "About" section).

Submit a tip through the DPS Mobile App. The app is available for iPhone users on the Apple App Store and for Android users on Google Play.

"All tips are anonymous, regardless of how they are submitted, and tipsters will be provided a tip number instead of using a name," Jennings said. "Do not attempt to apprehend these fugitives; they are considered armed and dangerous."

DPS and local law enforcement agencies work together to select the fugitives who appear on the Texas 10 lists for most wanted fugitives and sex offenders, according to DPS reports. Current lists and photos of offenders can be found on the DPS website at dps.texas.gov/texas10mostwanted/.
