Hope homicide victim identified; police seek suspect

The Hope, Ark. Police continue to search for a homicide suspect who allegedly fatally shot a Hope, Ark., man late Thursday afternoon, said Hope Police Assistant Chief Kim Tomlin.

A felony warrant for first-degree murder has been issued for Courvoisier Trotter, 22, of Hope, Tomlin said.

The gunshot victim has been identified as Tommy Hamilton Jr., 24, of Hope.

Detectives are searching for Trotter, who reportedly left the scene driving a black, four-door Mazda MZ6, Tomlin said.

Trotter is considered armed and dangerous, according to police.

The shooting was reported to the authorities at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the 600 block of North Walker Street.

Officers found Hamilton with a gunshot wound to the chest lying in the yard of the residence. Hamilton was taken to Wadley Regional Medical Center in Hope, where he died.
