The 911 system at Bi-State communications was down for about an hour Monday.
"All calls were answered during this period as they were automatically rerouted to New Boston. Calls were rerouted for approximately one hour," said Shawn Vaughn, spokesman for the Texarkana, Texas, Police Department.
The system was down between 2:45 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. Monday.
In case callers were not able to get through to 911 in New Boston, they were asked to call Texarkana directly at 903-798-3348.
