Abbott reappoints Texarkana resident to state commission

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott reappointed Texarkana, Texas, resident Dennis Lewis to the Texas Military Preparedness Commission for another term last week.

Lewis will continue serving on the commission until Feb. 1, 2021.

Lewis now serves as military adviser and liaison to Red River Army Depot.

He is also a Texarkana Area Red Cross board member, as well as a Texarkana Chamber of Commerce board member and Military Affairs Committee chairman.

He previously served as director for business management and as Base Relocation and Closure Transition coordinator at RRAD.

Lewis has also chaired the local Selective Service Board and served on Maud, Texas, City Council and Maud Independent School District Board of Trustees.
