Commissioners approve agreement for road repairs in Wake Village

NEW BOSTON, Texas- Bowie County Commissioners Court approved an interlocal agreement Monday between the county's Precinct 4 Road Department and Wake Village to discuss road work.
Commissioners approved an agreement that would allow Precinct 4 to conduct minor road repairs and maintenance on roadways within Wake Village's city limits.
The work will require the type of road repair equipment
that only the county has, according to the city's agreement records.
Such repairs and maintenance would include filling pot holes, edging and mowing roadside areas and replacing and installing crossroad and driveway culverts, according to county records.
Wake Village will pay for the services by reimbursing the county any cost involving material purchases, employee time and equipment operations.
Although Wake Village Mayor Jim Roberts said its rare for the city to need county assistance for minor road repairs, he added the agreement is good to have for general housekeeping operations in the event that county road repair equipment might be necessary.
