Foundation gives more than $20K to TASD

The Texarkana Arkansas Education Foundation recently gave a total of $20,213.75 in grants to teachers and staff at various campuses in
the Texarkana, Ark., School District.
They include: Mason McCloud, Arkansas High School, "Tennis Team," $4,385; Teresa Bennett, AHS, "Makespace," $4,955; Julie Carver, College Hill Middle School, "First LEGO League," $4,873.75; Diana Lowe, Jeremy Epley and Ashley Harris, AHS, "Algebra and Physics Connections," $2,500; Tammy McKissic, Trice Elementary School, "World Music for Trice," $2,500; and Nathan Thomas, North Heights Junior High and AHS, "Tackle for Anglers," $1,000.
The foundation's fundraising efforts are matched each year by Mark Wilson, an AHS alumnus who founded the organization in 2004. Since that time, the foundation has awarded more than $472,700 in grants to TASD teachers and staff to enhance student learning.
