Nash, Texas, Police Department received a $3,000 check from Texas Department of Transportation today for participating in the Memorial Day Click It or Ticket campaign, according to TxDOT.

The check is one of 15 presented by TxDOT as part of an incentive program to encourage law enforcement agencies' participation, said Marcus Sandifer, TxDOT spokesman. Winners are chosen at random from the 132 agencies participating in the program statewide.

Agencies can use the funding for enforcement equipment, officer training or safety education programs for the public, Sandifer said. The office has until Sept. 30, 2017, to use the funds.

To be eligible, agencies must participate in the Memorial Day Click It or Ticket campaign and have all their enforcement activities logged and reported.
