Mike Pollock with Pollock Construction of Colorado checks the measurement on the top of a doorway threshold at the new Arkansas Welcome Center being built on U.S. Highway 71 north of Texarkana. Work started on the $2.5 million project in January. The general contractor on the project is Contech Contractors Inc. of Texarkana. The new facility will offer the similar amenities as the rest area at mile maker 7 on Interstate 30.
