Road work: Tests prompt overnight closures on Interstate 30

Two overnight late closures on Interstate 30 between Nash and Texarkana are slated for next week as workers conduct tests on the paved roadway, Texas Department of Transportation reports state.

Tuesday and Wednesday, lanes will be closed on I-30 between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., said Marcus Sandifer, TxDOT Atlanta District spokesman.

Sandifer said this will take place on I-30 from a half-mile west of Farm to Market Road 989 (Kings Highway) in Nash to U.S. Highway 71 (State Line Avenue) in Texarkana.

"Workers will be conducting tests on the pavement and collecting data," Sandifer said.

Tuesday, the outside eastbound lanes are scheduled to close starting at 10 p.m. and should open up at 6 a.m. the following morning.

Outside westbound lanes will close Wednesday at 10 p.m. and should open up at 6 a.m. the next morning.

Sandifer said scheduled work and lane closures can change anytime due to weather conditions or other unforeseen problems.

Anyone with questions about the lane closures or the type of work being done can contact TxDOT's Texarkana office at 903-838-8574 for further information.
