Man, 66, killed in one-vehicle wreck on Interstate 30

NEW BOSTON, Texas-A Simms, Texas, man was killed Monday in a one-vehicle accident on Interstate 30.

Robert Daniel Meadows, 66, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident according to a report from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The accident happened at 8:15 p.m. about 13 miles west of New Boston.

The preliminary crash investigation indicates that a 2012 Dodge pickup was traveling east on I-30, in the right lane. The pickup, after leaving the roadway and entering the eastbound side bar ditch, struck an overpass support column of Farm to Market Road 44.

The crash remains under investigation, according to the report.
