The eyes of Texans were upon a photo taken Tuesday and published in Wednesday's edition showing the state's flag flying upside down as it was hung.

Talor Gooch of Oklahoma City, who will be a senior at Oklahoma State, putts on the 16th hole Wednesday in the Western Amateur at The Alotian Club in Roland. Gooch has played 180 holes of golf in the past nine days and will play at least 36 more over the next two days after shooting two rounds of 3-under 69. If he is in the top 16 after Friday, he will be in line for even more golf in match play.

Proud and passionate Texans contacted us Wednesday morning to report the flag faux pas.

The state flag's white stripe should be flown uppermost, according to state flag code.

But, when the picture was taken at Hotel Grim on Tuesday morning, the red stripe was uppermost, indicating distress.

Some time Tuesday, the wrong was made right and the flag was rehung with red stripe down, white stripe up, which is the proper placement.

We are happy to report the flag is flying high and with colors properly placed.
