The city of Texarkana, Texas, will host senior citizens for a day of fun, food and information on Wednesday.
The ninth annual Senior Day Out will take place from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. at Southwest Community Center, 3222 W. Seventh St.
The first 100 seniors in attendance will get a free lunch from Golden Chick.
Guests can play cards, dominoes or bingo, and there will be live singing as well as performances by senior line-dancing and harmonica-playing groups.
Drawings for door prizes will take place throughout the day. Those who donate a new toy to give a child for Christmas will receive two extra door prize tickets.
Free blood pressure and blood sugar screenings will be available, and more than a dozen service providers will be set up to share what they have to offer.
