DPS seeks information in Hill County missing person case

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Hill County Sheriff's Office are asking for the public's help in locating John Terry, who disappeared in 2014 in Hillsboro, Texas.

Authorities suspect foul play.

Terry, 30, was last seen leaving the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Hillsboro at approximately 6:34 p.m. on Oct. 17, 2014. One day later, his 2014 Jeep Compass was found abandoned on County Road 2346 in Abbott, about 25 miles from his house.

Abbott High School was having their homecoming the night Terry was last seen. At the time of Terry's disappearance, he was wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans, tan work boots and a blue Dallas Cowboys ball cap with a white embroidered "D.". Terry is the father of two young boys.

Terry is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds. He wore a full beard at the time of his disappearance, and has a vertical scar that runs the length of his right ear. In addition, he has a tribal dragon tattoo on the back of his left arm and a tattoo of "1984" across the top of his chest.

A private reward is being offered through the Hill County Sheriff's Office for information leading to the location of John Terry.
