Dennis and Linda Ramsey of Hope, Ark., recently donated $10,000 to establish the James Edward and Lillian Earline Berry Endowed Scholarship at the University of Arkansas at Hope-Texarkana. The endowment will honor Linda Ramsey's parents and will provide financial assistance to a student pursuing a degree or certificate from UA Hope-Texarkana.

"Linda's parents, neither of which graduated from high school, knew the value of an education and ensured that all three of their children received college degrees," Dennis Ramsey said in a press release. "With this endowment, Linda desires to perpetuate the memory of her parents by enhancing the educational opportunities for students wishing to further their education at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana."

Jill Bobo, executive director of the UA Hope-Texarkana Foundation, said, "Each scholarship at the college has a story to tell. For the Ramseys it is a legacy of learning. Linda's parents worked hard to provide her with an education. Now the establishment of this endowment will honor her parents' legacy forever by providing scholarships to allow students to further their education."
