Part of Farm to Market Road 2148 will be closed to traffic from 1 p.m. Tuesday until Union Pacific Railroad completes repairs to a crossing, a Texas Department of Transportation spokesman said.
Drivers who normally take FM 2148 between U.S. 67 and U.S. 59 near Wright Patman Lake will need to use an alternate route on Tuesday afternoon, said Marcus Sandifer, TxDOT spokesman.
"Traffic will be detoured on a signed route on U.S. 67, FM 989 and U.S. 59. Trucks must use the official detour route, but other motorists may use local routes they find more convenient," Sandifer said.
Portable message boards are set up near the crossing to warn motorists of the scheduled road closure. The construction schedule and road closure can change because of inclement weather or other unforeseen problems.
