Gerry Stanford is the new head football coach and athletic director for the Texas High Tigers.

The announcement was made late Monday morning.

Stanford compiled a 20-12 record in three seasons as the Flower Mound Marcus Marauders head coach and was 27-10 in three years as the head coach at White Oak High School prior to taking the Marcus position.

Stanford replaces Barry Norton, who retired from Texas High in January and was hired at Arkansas High as AD and head football coach. Norton went 176-32-1 and was the head coach and athletic director at THS since 1999.

Last season the Tigers completed a 10-0 regular season before bowing out to West Mesquite, 30-27, in the Class 5A bi-district round.

Stanford has also served as assistant coach at Grapevine and Hurst L.D. Bell High Schools.
