Gov. Hutchinson makes reappointment to SAU board

Gov. Asa Hutchinson has reappointed Therral Story of Magnolia, Ark., to the Board of Trustees at Southern Arkansas University. Story was initially appointed to fill the position following the death of board Chairman O.A. "Buddy Franks, who died in 2015.

Story's appointment expires Jan. 14, 2022.

"Therral and Jan Story have been such vital people in the growth and strength of SAU," SAU President Dr. Trey Berry said in a press release. "We are very excited that Gov. Hutchinson has appointed him and that Mr. Story has agreed to serve the university again in this leadership role. His support and wise counsel will be key in the future prosperity of SAU."

Story and his wife, Jan, have donated $2 million to the SAU Foundation for construction of the Therral and Jan Story Arena. He owns Therral Story Well Services, which drills gas and oil wells.
