Unsolved murder still under investigation

Local pilot was shot in his home two years ago; reward offered for information

Today marks the two-year anniversary of the unsolved murder of a local pilot who was shot to death in his Texarkana, Ark., home.

Scott Roberts, 40, was found by family members who went to check on him at his house in the 1800 block of Garland Street because they had been unable to contact him by phone. Roberts had been shot multiple times.

While no arrests have been made in connection with the killing, Texarkana, Ark., police have not shelved the case.

"The investigation is active and continues as we explore new information and ideas. Interviews have been conducted in the last 14 days in regards to this open investigation and we are currently working with the Roberts family in an effort to keep this case in the spotlight as we seek any new information anyone may have," said Texarkana, Ark., police Capt. Bobby Jordan. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the Roberts family."

In the months following Roberts' murder, a Go Fund Me page was established to solicit funds for a reward fund which has now reached $10,110.

"Scott was an amazing son, father, brother, cousin and friend to many. He never met a stranger and acquired many friends during his 40 years on earth. He was taken from us far too soon and his family and friends deserve answers," the Go Fund Me page states. "Through this, we are hoping to raise funds for a reward to give to the person(s) that can provide the police with answers that will lead to an arrest and ultimately a conviction. Any donation at all will helpno amount is too small. We appreciate the support and most importantly the prayers for peace and justice."

Texarkana area Crime Stoppers has pledged a $1,000 reward as well for information leading to an arrest.
