Kenneth "Kenny" Ray Callaway Jr., 38, came to the attention of the Bowie County Sheriff's Ofice earlier this year, according to a probable cause affidavit used to create the following account. BCSO was contacted by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children with information concerning images of child pornography being accessed by a user in Bowie County with a specific internet protocol address.
The IP address was tracked to a residence in the 2500 block of South State Line Avenue. Investigators with the sheriff's office went to the home and spoke to the owner, a woman who claimed her son and her tenant, later identified as Callaway, were the only people who regularly accessed the internet at the home.
Investigators interviewed the woman's son and he willingly gave his consent for a search of his computer. No illegal images were discovered.
Investigators then interviewed Callaway at his job.
"Mr. Callaway indicated there may be some material on his computer that would be a problem," the affidavit states.
Investigators allegedly discovered a file titled "porn pics" on Callaway's computer which contained multiple still pictures and videos of young children engaged in sexually graphic conduct.
Callaway was indicted last week for possession of child pornography. He faces two to 10 years in prison if convicted.
