This year's Dine on the Line fundraiser has been set for Oct. 7, according to a press release from Main Street Texarkana.

The organization's largest fundraiser of the year brings residents from both sides of town for food, music and fun on the state line-right in the middle of North State Line Avenue, just south of the Downtown Post Office and federal building.

"Half of the diners are in Arkansas, and half are in Texas. This year, music will be provided by the Dusty Rose Band, and dinner will be an original creation from downtown restaurants Pecan Point and Verona, with a special meal just for kids from Johnny B's," the press release states.

"We're very excited to be offering 100 percent downtown cuisine this year," MST Executive Director Ina McDowell said.

The family-friendly event will also feature pop-up vendors for all ages and a dinosaur dig, bike riding, bubbles and more for kids.

"Just before sunset, guests will be asked to gather around the table for a toast to our two cities and their shared downtown at this event like no other," the press release states.

Tickets are available by presale only this year, and planners encourage those who are interested to buy them early. Buy tickets through Sept. 30 online at dotl2017.eventbrite.com. The cost is $25 for adults and $10 for children 12 and younger. All proceeds from the event go toward the restoration and revitalization of downtown Texarkana.
