Catholics prepare for celebration

St. Edward and Sacred Heart Summer Celebration will be held Sunday through Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 4505 Elizabeth St.
Mass begins at 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and dinner will be served at 5:45 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday.
The children's program "Message Received, Hearing God's Call" begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Parish Center. It is for children age 4 through fifth-grade graduates.
A closing swim party will be held at CHRISTUS St. Michael.
A nursery will be available.
The adults' program meets at 7 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday in the church. The program is entitled "Fearless: Conquer Your Demons and Love with Abandon."
Sunday's adult session is "What the Bible Says About Spiritual Warfare."
Monday's is "Conquering Sin, Anger and Unforgiveness."
Tuesday's is "Digging out of Depression."
Wednesday's program is "Mary, Steel Magnificat."
Sonja Corbitt, a radio host and Catholic Bible study teacher, will speak.
Adults and teen volunteers are needed for the events.
There also will be a presentation in Spanish for adults 7 p.m. Sundays and Wednesdays. The theme is "Put Yourself in My Shoes Enriching Your Family Life." The presenter will be author Jerney Ramirez.
