Texarkana, Ark., police have made an arrest in a recent robbery at Metro PCS on East Street.

Rolston Lockett, 26, was arrested Tuesday at a motel on North State Line Avenue, said Capt. Bobby Jordan, a spokesman for TAPD. Lockett was arrested on a charge of aggravated robbery. He is also a felon and warrants for illegally possessing a handgun are forthcoming, Jordan said.

The robbery at the Metro PCS at 809 East St. occurred at 5:45 p.m. Monday.

After gaining all the cash on hand at the business, the suspect fled south from the business toward Prince Street.

Officers and detectives responded and began collecting evidence and investigating leads. Witnesses interviewed about the robbery identified Lockett as a suspect.

Later that night, Texarkana, Texas, police were called to the Metro PCS business on Richmond Road where Rolston Lockett had allegedly involved himself in an altercation inside the Metro PCS business while trying to pay his cellular phone bill. He allegedly told officers he had tried to pay earlier at 809 East St.

Rolston was wearing headgear and Nike shoes that matched those of the robbery suspect during this video recorded encounter with TTPD officers.

An arrest warrant was issued and TAPD officers learned that Rolston could be found at a motel on North State Line Avenue. Once there, Rolston answered the door and was taken into custody. A search warrant for evidence related to the robbery was obtained by TAPD detectives, who located what they believe to be the handgun and the clothing worn during the robbery inside the motel room.
