Fouke Farmers' Market will host its first salsa contest from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

"Anyone can enter. We just ask that you show up and bring as much salsa as you can," said Ashley Matthews, spokeswoman.

Registration starts at 8 a.m., and participation is free.

The contest will be at 811 N. Monster Expressway. Sponsor La Fogata Mexican restaurant will donate chips and salsa.

"With local individual salsa entries, we will have plenty of free chips and salsa for all," Matthews said.

The winner will be named salsa king or queen of Fouke.
