Domtar's Ashdown, Ark., mill will receive a "One Million Man Hour Safety Award" Thursday from the Arkansas Department of Labor.
"Eight hundred employees have accumulated one million work hours without a lost day away from work due to a work-related injury or illness between April 20, 2016 and Dec. 24, 2016," Leon Jones Jr., director of the Arkansas Department of Labor, said.
The company has a safety program in effect and a safety committee consisting of both employees and management.
An award ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Domtar, 285 Highway 71 South, in Ashdown.
