Teen dies after motorcycle he was driving hits school bus head on last week

Bus driver, 16 children uninjured

 

A 17-year-old boy died last week after a motorcycle he was driving hit a school bus head on, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety official.

Brian Allen Williams, 17, of Douglassville, Texas, was apparently travellng north on Cass County Road 2341 nine miles north of Linden on the afternoon of April 24, said Sylvia Jennings, DPS spokeswoman.

The driver of the Linden school bus, Loftin Rider, and the 16 children on board, were not injured.

At 4:20 p.m., DPS troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on the road.

The preliminary investigation indicated that a Kawasaki motorcycle driven by Williams struck a Linden Independent School District school bus travelling south.

The motorcycle apparently veered head on into the path of the school bus, Jennings said.

Williams was air lifted to LSU Medical Center in Shreveport where he later died.

 

This is an ongoing investigation and no additional information is available at this time, Jennings said.
