Diamond Bank is opening a branch in Texarkana, Texas, in the coming weeks.
Headquartered in Glenwood, Ark., the bank plans to locate at 4820 Texas Blvd.
The location-behind Walgreens at the corner of State Line Avenue and Texas Boulevard-was formerly the home of a Century Bank branch and later a Wells Fargo branch.
Bank officials say its management saw an opportunity to expand to Texarkana with a full-service bank that could provide a portfolio of modern banking products and services. Rick Wisdom, the bank's Texarkana market president and Texarkana native said he is proud of the bank for "choosing to invest locally."
Diamond Bank is the result of a 2007 merger between Arkansas Diamond Bank of Glenwood and Diamond State Band of Murfreesboro.
