Texarkana, Texas, police have arrested Michael Troy Gray, 19, on an aggravated robbery charge in connection to a botched robbery Monday night that resulted in a shooting death.

Gray was named earlier Wednesday as a person of interest in Monday's shooting death in the 3500 block of Magnolia Street. He turned himself in upon learning that detectives were looking for him, said Shawn Vaughn, spokesman for the TTPD.

Gray is being held in the Bi-State jail.

Drake Griffith, 18, was found dead just before midnight Monday at a residence in the 3500 block of Magnolia. He had been shot several times.

The two residents of the house told police Griffth had been invited to the house to purchase drugs.

"Griffith, who was shot by a resident of the home, was one of two people involved in what appears to have been a botched robbery attempt related to drugs," Vaughn said.

If anyone has information on this shooting, they are asked to contact the TTPD at 903-798-3116 or Texarkana CrimeStoppers at 903-793-STOP.
